Gaim is now called Pidgin
The cross platform, cross network IM client GAIM is now called Pidgin. Yes, Gaim is no more. For those who love this easy to use IM client, u dont have to worry since there is no change except the name. During the early day , Gaim was known as GTK+AOL Instant messenger till AOL complaint about that. To protect the developer against legal action from AOL , GTK+AOL Instant Messenger was renamed to GAIM.Recently, when Gaim became famous due to its cross network IM functionality, AOL restart the long battle against Gaim`s developer. They use the trademarked “AIM” to defeat GAIM developers. I believe they will never win against an open source software. Long live Pidgin!
