The easiest way into Linux

I’ve been using Linux since my university day. Although much has improved BUT not all newbie will be able to install Linux easily. Unless you are willing to wipe off your current Windows installation, dual booting can still be considered a real bitch. Disk partitioning, uninstallation of Linux system, disk space are another common problems with Linux newbie.

If you heard about Linux and Ubuntu, if you wanted to try them but you were afraid, this is for you.

Wubi is unofficial Windows-based Ubuntu installer trying to solve above problems. With Wubi, u can run Ubuntu on Windows XP box. No partitions, boot loaders or Live CDs required. U can even remove Ubuntu installation by double clicking uninstall icon in Windows. So, for every newbie out there if you love Linux so much after seeing my post here, Wubi is the easiest way into Linux. U can download Wubi here.

  1. Sounds like an awesome idea, but unfortuntely it doesn’t work on Vista – and certainly not on the 64-bit build I’m running!

Never mind… One for the future I think! :)
