The Cure for Hypertension
ahh, this will definitely cure patients`s compliance. Sometime, I can’t simply blame my hypertensive patients. Imagine taking not only one but sometime 3 types of hypertensive medications , it’s no surprise that they give up on them! Convincing them to take hypertensive medications is another story. Yup, some of my patients prefer to take mengkudu for hypertension ( some of them did come back with stroke). This newly discovered vaccine hopefully will reduce all hypertensive related problems. I wonder what will happen to share market of drug companies selling current anti-hypertensive medications.
British scientists have developed a vaccine to control high blood pressure which could save tens of thousands of lives a year in the UK alone.
Professor Graham Mac-Gregor of the Blood Pressure Association said: “Raised blood pressure is the most important cause of death from strokes and heart attacks in the UK.
“If you have to take blood pressure tablets, you have to take them for the rest of your life and some people find that difficult.
“Finding other ways and better ways of trying to lower blood pressure without side- effects would be very much welcome.”

i agree with kucau, patient compliance sure is a challenge.
not to be unfair to herbs and traditional medicine, they do have a basis (in the sense they too have drug like active ingredients). furthermore, they tend to attract users because they are more ‘natural’. in the end, they are the same, chemical compounds. more research should be done, scientifically, not on a practitioner’s (conventional or traditional) whim.
I took Beta Blockers half of my life. Since I dialyse I do not need to take them no more.
Doctors put me on herbal drugs first but they did not seem to work. Then I got the hard stuff. First 25 mg and 15 years later I was on 75 mg. Now I take other medications but no blood pressure tablets no more and I am very happy about that.
so netty, what medication are u taking now? what happen to the BP?
